4th Annual Toast & Twirl Workshop (2019)

WHAT. AN. EVENT. Words can barely describe how full my heart is from the 4th Annual Toast & Twirl Workshop. So blessed to have had Stacy with Stacy Anderson Photography capture the entire day because words can’t describe the beauty that was florals, color and crafting. Be sure to read all the way to the end for a special surprise!

Location.

Latitude Med Center graciously hosted our workshop this year on their 35th floor Sky Lounge. This space had expanded views of the city 360°. We were able to enjoy all portions of the floor with the luxurious lounge spaces that were open to create the perfect event flow.

Design & Decor.

The theme for this year was “Palm Springs”. After having visited earlier this year, it was solidified that everyone needed to experience (or at least attempt to) the beauty that is Palm Springs. The weather was something to rave about in itself. Every element was infused with color and interactive to be able to bring each attendee into the Palm Springs vibes.

The guests were welcomed into the space with a swag bag station flanked by GORGEOUS Amanda Bee Florals. Each arrangement was carefully crafted to showcase the textures, colors and movement of each flower. It all worked together to create something that was completely breathtaking.

The flower cart was the perfect prop to hold all the swag bags. This gave these ladies an up close view of the arrangements surrounding their gift items.

The Palm Springs backdrop was also crafted by Amanda Bee Floral - what a stunning element and the perfect station to grab your photo to commemorate the event.

Throughout the space, there were various surprise and delight floral arrangements highlighted by fruit and abstract art. We were immersed in the art element of Palm Spring and the bright colors and palms the city has to offer.

To add more color a crepe paper backdrop was added in soft pastel and vibrant colors. Such a beautiful and simple element to change a space. It added movement and welcomed guests in between the transition of each rooms.

We were in Palm Springs from head to toe - the attendees were guided with fun Palm leaf decals throughout the space.

The ladies were welcomed and encouraged to step out of their element. This was the space to meet a fellow creative and other women who loved “the pretty” as much as you do.

Abstract Art by Shop Callie Danielle. Each lady visited three classes for the day and our first group started off with creating abstract art with Callie. Callie is a doodler, creative, blogger, and innovative artist. She has an eye for the cute and a simplistic and classic style. Her love of doodles highlights the loves of her life including her goldens and the fall season.

The ladies were welcomed to a station with a variety of colors and accents to help bring their abstract vision to life. Callie instructed the women to select their colors to best represent their style and place a dollop on the canvas.

After mixing the selected colors, the ladies “scraped” their design followed by zhooshing up with either gold leaf or glitter.

The final looks were all unique and beautiful - being able to have a custom work of art was a great takeaway to be added to their home or office decor.

Want to create an abstract art piece at home? I’ll be posting follow up workshop details so you can create your very own Toast & Twirl mini workshop class at home. Stay tuned!

Party Placemats by Pop Shop America. The next craft class the ladies attended was led by Brittany of Pop Shop America. She is the creator behind all things craft on the Pop Shop America website and blog that is a great mix of modern and stylish DIY crafts. The space was set with a unique table runner infused with fresh fruits, palms and florals. If this didn’t provide color inspiration, I don’t know what will.

There were a variety of tools used to assist in building either a trivet or coaster.

The ladies were guided in creating a simplistic pattern and then left to allow their inspiration take over.

Things began to come together…

Final works were beautiful and unique and told a story of each guests inspiration.

Drink Mixology by Palace Party. The final class everyone took happened to be with the drink mixology experts, Palace Party. With a variety of tools used, these ladies can create any cocktail for every palette that’s bot only delicious but pleasing to the eye. Palace Party is your go to when needing someone to keep the party going behind the bar - you won’t regret hiring them for your next event.

Every attention detail was present and nothing overlooked. Various stemware, garnishes and the wonderful sponsors, Liber & Co & Pennyback help to complete each cocktail.

We mixed up three signature cocktails -

The Texas Tikis, Palm Spring Vibes & More Vodka Please. Let’s just say after the mixology class, everyone was happy! The great debate continues on which one was the favorite cocktail.

Palace Party offers private and seasonal drink mixology courses throughout the year. Be sure to visit their website or follow their Instagram for all the details!

After this class, the ladies felt like drink experts! Although there may have been some measurement changes (I know who poured all the vodka in the glass) there was no shortage of laughter and fun!

Everyone knows with any event food is one of the most important elements. Whether you are having a potluck or are cooking it has to be a huge stress that can either make or break an event. Houston Catering Concepts was the perfect solution for the workshop.

The presentation and professionalism was unlike any other. From the set up to floral accents, we anticipated a delicious spread and was not disappointed.

Breakfast was complete with chicken and waffle bites, french toast bites, egg and cheese frittatas, bacon, pastries and a gorgeous selection of fresh seasonal fruit.

Lunch was complete with the most delicious blackened shrimp skewers - they didn’t last long. Perfectly seasoned and the crowd favorite. Additionally, there were beef and chicken skewers, veggies skewers, plantain and tortilla chips with artichoke and spinach dip and mango salsa. To complete the day, we enjoyed a frozen margarita to curve the sweet tooth. I urge you to consider outsourcing a stressor like catering to the professional for your next big event - you won’t be disappointed when using Houston Catering Concepts!

Throughout the afternoon, ladies had the opportunity to capture the workshop in their own way with Mary from Life of the Party. The fun balloon garland was the perfect backdrop to pose for the camera (click click click) and print out a photo (a rare thing these days) or send to your phone to save and post for later. It was so hard to take just one!

Each of the attendees walked away with some wonderful swag, including gorgeous Palm Spring door cookies by Tudor House Cookies, tubs of cotton candy by Twirl Cotton Candy, a custom turquoise Toast & Twirl apron, mini bottles of Le Grand Courtage wine, a coupon code from Shop Callie Danielle, a Palace Party mason jar filled with amazing goodies, a commemorative picture courtesy of Life of the Party and more!

One of the most coveted swag bag items had to be a piece of Kendra Scott jewelry. The beloved jewelry is well known and the ladies were able to indulge in a custom jewelry piece at the mobile Color Bar.

The decision on whether to select a delicate necklace or a dainty bracelet was hard to make.

All attendees were able to walk away with a great Palm Springs jewelry piece memory. Sincerest thanks goes to the Houston Kendra Scott team!
